Freya Pocklington

Freya Pocklington is currently undertaking a PhD at the Royal College of Art, examining the role of fine art portraiture within narrative medicine. Alongside this research she continues to make work about the conflicted relationship between humans and animals, exploring themes such as pampered pets, eating meat, environmental concerns and anthropomorphism.

Pocklington uses a wide range of materials and methods within her studio practice including drawing, painting, sculpture, animation, print and sound. She is available for commissions and also works as a lecturer and tutor.

Pocklington has received residencies from The Royal Scottish Academy, Scottish Arts Council, The Florence Trust, Somerset House, West Dean College and The National Trust. Her work has appeared in The British Museum, V&A, Chichester Cathedral, Edinburgh College of Art and Royal Scottish Academy collections.

Freya Pocklington lives and works in Hertfordshire.
